What a phenomenal first week to this Best Year Ever.
As promised, this is going to be a BIG year for me, and I am so glad you are coming along for the ride. Thank you. I appreciate you.
This is the first in a major set of goals, or rather initiatives for the year, and I am super excited to be kicking off with this one. It’s been a dream of mine for a long time, and now it’s time to make that dream a reality. It’s getting written down, planned out and the hard work is about to begin, and that’s where I need your help.
I promise there will be something in it for you, too.
Maybe I should tell you what it is first?
Are you curious?
I’m going to write a book. A cookbook. But not just any cookbook, a useful cookbook, or rather a useful party cookbook.
I’ve been cooking for years, even for some of you (thank you). And Dyann and I have been hosting, throwing and running parties for years, even for some of you (thank you), and the #1 question everyone always asks is, “How do you do it?
How do you get everything done in time?
Where do you get all this cool decor?
How do you make it look so easy?”
I’ve always had a difficult time answering that question. I usually just fumble out a feeble, “timing.” But the reality is that there is so much more to it and that’s where this book comes in. I want to share with you and everyone out there how to do it. How to have a perfect party.
By the way, as I ask for your help, I probably should ask Dyann too. I mean, she is the beauty and brains behind it all, and will have a big part to play in the book.
”Baby, will you help me?”
”Yah,” she just said.
Awesome. We’re good to go.
Now, this is where you all come in. I need help going through all my recipes to figure what I should put in the book. At some point I have cooked for most of you, or you have seen my food on Insta or FB.
Will you help me to decide?

Just let me know some of your favorite recipes.
Now, what’s in it for you? Well, of course there need to be recipe testing and actual parties for photo shoots. And then there’s going to need to be people in the photos and someone to taste the food to make sure it actually tastes good. Shouldn’t that be you? And then of course I will need a few proof readers to get advanced copies to tell me what works and doesn’t. Shouldn’t that be you?
I hope you’re in.
While I don’t have all the details planned out, here is my preliminary thoughts:
1) It’s going to take 6 months to write the book, so June-ish to complete
2) Going to need to throw 5 amazing, instagramable parties
3) Edit everything, August-ish
4) With a fall book launch
How’s that for accountability? For those of you who know us, there will most likely be some big international trip, lots of other project work, and general chaos in between, but with your help, and Dyann’s, I know I can do it.
